Out of production,
still in demand.
Every Commodore stolen is a Commodore stripped for parts that Holden no longer makes. That is why a 2016 VF is the single most stolen car in Victoria, ahead of anything new: panels, engines, wheels and interiors all have a market. The factory security on a VE or VF is tied to the key, and a stolen or cloned transponder key beats it outright.
A second immobiliser that is not part of Holden's own electronics, hidden where nobody looks, is what keeps the engine off when the factory system has already been beaten.

Three Commodores,
two kinds of kit.
It comes down to how the car starts. The checker below confirms it for your exact year.
VE and earlier, to 2013
VE, VZ, VY and every Commodore before them turn a key. Classic is the value pick: one hidden button, no code. Alarm adds a horn response to an unauthorised start.
VF, 2013 to 2017
Calais and Calais V use push-button start and need the One. Evoke turns a key: Classic or Alarm. SV6 and SS had push-button as an option, so check your dash.
ZB, 2018 to 2020
Push-button start on every grade. The One is the match: press-sequence codes, per-driver codes, service mode, master code card.
An afternoon
behind the dash.
The unit is smaller than a deck of cards and lives hidden behind the dash. The harness is pre-made and every cable is tagged for its connection; you splice into the starter circuit and one more circuit of your choice, mount the hidden button where only you would look, and test. Most owners are done in about two hours with the diagram for their transmission and Stop/Start setup.
Not a DIY person? Authorised installers fit the One for a fixed price, car dropped off in the morning and back the same day.

Can't find your car?
Thanks!
We've received your details. We'll review your vehicle and reply within 1-2 business days.

Anything else, email contact@starterstopper.com. We usually reply within a few hours during AU business hours.
Holden is gone. Can I still protect the car properly?
Yes, and it matters more now. StarterStopper does not depend on Holden, on dealer software, or on the factory key system. It is a stand-alone hidden immobiliser on the starter and fuel or ECM circuit, which is exactly the part of the car a parts thief needs to work.
My VF has push-button start. Which kit?
The One. Classic and Alarm are for key-start cars only. If your VF turns a key (Evoke, and SV6 or SS without the option), Classic or Alarm fits.
Will this upset the electronics or throw a fault code?
StarterStopper interrupts the starter circuit and one further circuit you choose (fuel or ECM). There is no CAN-bus integration and no model-specific electronics, so there is nothing for the body computer to object to. Some vehicles watch monitored circuits closely, which is exactly why push-button cars get the One. If you are unsure, run the 10-minute driveway test we email after the compatibility check before you install.
What about Stop/Start?
StarterStopper is designed to work with Stop/Start systems, but vehicle behaviour can vary. The install guide has a separate diagram for Stop/Start cars. If yours has it, mention it when you contact us and we will confirm the wiring for your model.
Can a thief just find it and bypass it?
They have to find it (smaller than a deck of cards, hidden behind the dash), recognise it, and short two specific terminals. By then they have spent more time than they would picking another car. The hidden button or code is the only thing that disarms it.
Does it drain the battery?
Classic and Alarm draw about 0.6 mA when armed, roughly the same as your factory clock. The One sits around 20 µA in standby. Vehicles parked for six weeks or more during testing did not flatten their battery.
Can I take it out again, or move it to my next car?
Yes. Pull the harness, reconnect the original wires with the butt connectors we ship for exactly this, done. No permanent modification, nothing cut that cannot be restored. Many owners move the unit to their next vehicle.
Is it covered by warranty?
Every StarterStopper carries a 2-year product warranty, with 30-day returns and free worldwide shipping. The install is reversible, so there is no permanent change to the vehicle; if you prefer not to do it yourself, an authorised installer fits it in a morning.
